Day Trip to Ithaca: Visiting the Cornell Lab of Ornithology

Since I became interested in studying ornithology, Cornell Lab of Ornithology has been on my list of places to visit. I finally took a quick trip to Ithaca where I was able to spend the night in a cute Airbnb studying my bird biology course and snacking, rest up, and then spend a few hours at lab the following day before heading back home.

Cornell Lab of Ornithology: Bird Biology Studies

I am beyond excited to have just purchased this text book from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology: Handbook of Bird Biology. I will also be taking their courses Comprehensive Bird Biology and Field Ornithology to help me really obtain the knowledge I need to move forward with internships and field experience in ornithology. I also just went to orientation at our local wildlife department last night and should be able to start volunteering in the next week or two. I’ve dreamt of getting into this field since I was a child, but sometimes life takes you on a stray path for awhile. I’m very lucky to have all these opportunities in front of me right now, and I will document every wonderful detail of it here on my blog.

If you’re interested in snagging your own copy of Cornell’s Handbook of Bird Biology, you can purchase it here.

Visiting back home in the Catskills. I grew up in the Hudson Valley and moved to the city of Buffalo a few years ago. I always crave these visits and feel so lucky to call this place my true home.
